ER Group marks 15 years of community impact

Celebrating ER Group’s engagement and impact in the community
Watch the video here.
For years, ER Group, through its Foundation, has worked closely with communities across Mauritius to support inclusive and lasting development. In 2024, the 15th anniversary of ex-ENL Foundation was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the group’s journey alongside the communities and its impact in regions such as Cité Sainte Catherine, Telfair, Moka, Vuillemin, Alma, Pailles/GRNW, L’Escalier, and Le Bouchon.
The Group's Foundation: A journey of empowerment and purpose
Over the past 15 years, the Group's Foundation has reached more than 10,000 people across the targeted regions, significantly enhancing community welfare. With the support of more than 20 partners and funders, the Group's Foundation offers a variety of programmes for both adults and children focused on empowerment, community development, socio-economic growth, education and employability. The Foundation has also facilitated the establishment of five community-based organisations which have been crucial in empowering communities. These efforts align with ER Group’s commitment to inclusive development and vibrant communities, helping to improve quality of life, increase economic opportunities, and strengthen community ties.
To mark the 15 years of community engagement, the Group's Foundation hosted workshops in the different regions to share the findings of an impact report, conducted by an independent agency which evaluated the Foundation’s outcomes and long-term effects. It was an opportunity for community members to share their reflections and collaboratively shape the future of the foundation's community development initiatives. Children also took part in the celebration through creative sessions where they drew their hopes and dreams for the future of their communities. Their artworks, displayed at each workshop, were a visual representation of the younger generation’s aspirations and served as inspiration for future projects.
Priscille Noël, Head of Social Impact at ER Group, shared:
“We were very pleased to see the willingness and readiness of community members to take initiatives that help their regions thrive. Furthermore, there is a collective desire to continue advancing these efforts with the Group's Foundation, albeit in new and innovative ways.”
Stories that inspire
Behind every programme are people, their journeys, challenges, and empowerment. These three stories show how the Foundation’s support has made a difference and what is possible when organisations and the community collaborate for continued growth.
