Our vision for social progress

At ER, we believe that long-term progress begins with inclusion. Our 2025-2035 strategy, “Enhancing Lives, Building Communities”, sets the course for individual empowerment, inclusive growth, and systemic advocacy.

Led by the Group's Foundation, our social strategy channels resources and partnerships to achieve measurable change at individual, community, and national levels. It is fully compliant with Mauritius Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) regulations, aligned with global sustainability standards, and extends to our international teams in Kenya, Madagascar, and India.

Our social inclusion pillars

Our social strategy is anchored in three focus areas that guide how we design, implement, and scale impact:

  • Inclusive development
  • Vibrant communities
  • Diversity and inclusion
Inclusive development

We are committed to enhancing lives through individual empowerment, inclusive growth, and systemic advocacy. We act through three key causes — education, employability and entrepreneurship, and health — all designed to build stronger, more resilient communities.

Vibrant communities

We aim to nurture vibrant communities by preserving our ‘vivre ensemble’ and national identity. Through three core causes — arts, culture, and sports; community strengthening; and the preservation of national cultural heritage — we strengthen local bonds and celebrate what unites us.

Diversity and inclusion

We recognise diversity as a driver of progress and are committed to building an inclusive, respectful and empowering workplace culture. Our focus is on supporting vulnerable employees, promoting gender equality, and strengthening human rights principles in our operations.

Building inclusion together

Our approach to social inclusion is rooted in proximity and shared prosperity. We engage with people and communities across three interconnected levels:

  • Individual support: We support economically vulnerable individuals and families by improving access to essential services, tools, and growth opportunities.
  • Community collaboration: We partner with local communities near our operations, investing in grassroots initiatives and infrastructure to build long-term resilience. Systemic advocacy: We work with regional and national stakeholders to shape inclusive pub

Within our operational teams, we also strive to create a workplace where everyone feels they belong and can thrive.
