Sustainability Trainee

Overview

The trainee will support data management, reporting, research, and process documentation activities within the sustainability team. This role is suited for a recent graduate or a university student with a strong interest in sustainability, data analysis, and corporate reporting systems.

  • This position will be based in Mapou for a period of 3 months.
Your role

Sustainability Data Support

  • Assist in consolidating and validating sustainability data across business units
  • Support monthly updates of the sustainability dashboard
  • Identify data gaps and follow up with internal stakeholders
  • Support checks for data consistency, accuracy, and traceability
  • Assist in structuring datasets for carbon footprint assessments and ESG disclosures

 

Reporting & Analysis

  • Contribute to internal and external sustainability reporting exercises
  • Support preparation of data for carbon footprint calculations
  • Assist in analysing consumption profiles (energy, water, waste, etc.)
  • Conduct basic trend and variance analysis

 

Process & Procedure Documentation

  • Assist in documenting data collection procedures and reporting workflows
  • Support the formalisation of sustainability reporting processes
  • Help map data flows and define roles/responsibilities for data owners
  • Contribute to improving internal controls related to sustainability data

 

Certification renewal

  • Assist in certification renewal related tasks

 

Research & Benchmarking

  • Research sustainability best practices and emerging ESG trends
  • Support preparation of briefing notes and comparative analyses
Your profile
  • Currently completing or recently completed a degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong affinity with data and structured analytical work
  • Proficient in Excel (Power BI or similar tools is an advantage)
  • Detail-oriented with an organised approach to work
  • Ability to communicate clearly with different stakeholders.
